Design Challenge
In the fall of 2022, the "Hidden Oasis" project began to take shape, focusing on refining a residence nestled within the DC Palisades community. Aligned with the client's vision, our journey involved editing the design strategy to accentuate the envisioned feeling of serenity. With a deliberate focus on meeting the client's needs, our design ensured that users could effortlessly shed the complexities of their hectic day at the entrance, stepping into a chapter of peace and repose within the charming community.
The goal was to seamlessly guide the user from the outside world's hustle into their quiet sanctuary of a tranquil oasis.

Concept Statement
"Fallen leaves return to their roots." This idea reflects the way everything eventually circles back to its source.
The Morse-Libby House in Portland resonates with Kathy’s desire for a space where her family can gather when they come home, while also serving as her personal retreat at the end of a long day—a place to unwind with her cat and find comfort. With this in mind, I designed five key spaces to be warm, inviting, and deeply personal, blending historic charm with modern functionality to create a home that feels both rooted and restorative.
